Al Reem Island has become the most popular residential area in Abu Dhabi in terms of sales during the first half of 2025, as the investors take keen interest since its was bought by ADGM.
Driven Properties has released new data showing that the average price of properties in Reem Island is AED 1,194 per square foot.
The prices in this category are around 10.7% more than those on Al Reem Island in H2-2024.
Reem Island continues to provide some of the most affordable prices amongst the middle and upper middle range residential options currently offered in Abu Dhabi as the most recent sales data also reflects this.
“This strong sales activity, supported by mature infrastructure, strong supply from developments like Shams and Reem Hills and affordability compared to Abu Dhabi’s luxury hubs, indicates investor preference for communities offering balanced yield and quality of life,” the Driven Properties report states.
In April 2024, ADGM (Abu Dhabi Global Market) announced that it will buy Al Reem Island and provide free zone status to the businesses operating over there. The strategic move has made Al Reem Island one of the most popular office submarkets in the emirate as a result.
Rent Demands
It goes without saying that this increased demand for residential real estate on Al Reem from both end users and investors looking to lease. Rents for two-bedroom apartments on the island currently vary from AED 110,000 to AED 120,000, while those for one-bedroom apartments fall between AED 70,000 and AED 90,000.
